Posted on: Oct 31, 2014
Ranch Advisory Partners has been contracted to assist Montana's Fort Peck Tribe expand its existing buffalo herds for improved ecological performance, financial performance, and for greater use of buffalo by tribal members. Working in collaboration with the World Wildlife Fund, Ranch Advisory will conduct a feasibility study to determine carrying capacity of buffalo for the tribe's "cultural" and "business" herds. A herd expansion plan will then be designed, and ecological performance of the land and needs of the buffalo will be balanced against the financial and cultural desires of the tribe. The World Wildlife Fund works with partners such as the Fort Peck Tribe to create a future where thriving prairies and an abundance of wildlife contribute to the economic and cultural sustainability of the region. Ranch Advisory is proud to assist in this effort.
