Montana’s Hamilton Ranch Seeks Recreation Manager

The Hamilton Ranch in Twin Bridges Montana is seeking a recreation manager.  Hamilton Ranch is a working cattle ranch covering 90,000 acres and running approximately 2000 mother cows. The ranch has major stretches of the Beaverhead, Ruby, Jefferson, and Big Hole Rivers plus numerous ponds and spring creeks.

Primary responsibilities of the Recreation Manager's role include the following:

Maintain and improve the rivers, creeks and ponds through fencing, stocking, water management and pest removal (including control of predators, beavers and carp as warranted).
Continuously monitor water temperature, dissolved oxygen, and flows. Make adjustments to optimize the condition of the ponds and creeks throughout the ranch. Coordinate with livestock grazing and required irrigation.
Manage the trout feeding program and aerators in the numerous ponds.
Maintain the network of trails, gates, culverts, crossings and cattle guards as needed to provide easy and intuitive access to the rivers, creeks, ponds and upland hunting areas.
